Stories invite us to wonder, dream, imagine, and explore worlds beyond our own. We discover new perspectives, connect with others, and find pieces of ourselves in unexpected places. Every writing represents countless hours of healing, faith, dedication, heart, sweat, and tears. That was the recipe to creating my children’s book, Daddy Angel’s Victory Lap.  My daughter and I lost a special person, NaQuan Parker in our lives on June 29, 2026. He was my daughter’s father, my soulmate, a friend, a brother, and a son. He made his transition at 30 years old. At the age of 32, I often think about how precious life truly is and how blessed I am to live. For many years of my life, survival mode was in first gear. I treated everything like an emergency, never pausing to smell the roses. This unexpected tragedy rocked my world and I’m not talking Michael Jackson.  I never really had to face grief until now. I find my emotions shifting daily, never really knowing the next emotion I’ll feel. Talk about a roller coaster. I have to carry two sets of feelings: my own and my daughter’s. That’s a different kind of strength to sustain. Faith is my foundation, but I needed to feel closer to Q, a nickname I adopted him with when we first met at good ole Capitol Cadillac car dealership in 2017.  Writing/journaling, drawing, and listening to music are my lifelines so the idea of a children’s book was already a long awaited goal of mine. I was driving to pick up my daughter from elementary school while on the phone with my aunt when I asked her for insight on how to prepare for this monumental journey. Out of the blew, I cried harder than the week before that day. In that moment, I knew that I was ordained to publish this book. It felt like God and Q had anointed my head and heart giving me their blessing. I walked that day with the spiritual touch of them on my heart like I was Superwoman lol.  On October 02, 2026, Daddy Angel’s Victory Lap was published on Amazon. This book encourages hope, love, and the confidence to keep moving forward. It carries a meaningful message turning life’s challenges into lessons, struggles into strength, and moments into memories that shape us today.  Children, parents, families, educators, and anyone who believes in the power of encouragement, faith, and love should read this book. It is more than a story, but a legacy.
